Long Service Awards for Ripley Staff

Two members of the Ripley Castle Estate staff have been presented with Long Service Awards. Brian James and Ken Swales have dedicated over seventy five years between them to the Estate. The presentation of the Award was made by President of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, Lord Hotham, at The Great Yorkshire Show.

Sir Thomas Ingilby said: "Ken and Brian have been invaluable members of our team here for almost as long as I can remember. Their loyalty and dedication has been exemplary: no problem has been too big for them and whenever additional help has been needed, they have always been amongst the first to step forward. Much of the work they have undertaken: the planting of thousands of trees, the creation of new water supplies and the preservation and conservation of listed buildings, will continue to provide real benefits to the people of this district for generations to come."
